I’ll be in Berlin this week, so I wanted to organise an informal, on the fly gathering this weekend for those interested in unMonastery and related initiatives around living together to catch up, share developments on home sprung projects, and spend time together.
At unMonastery over the past weeks, we’ve been working on the Test Lab Manual, a document that aims to concisely synthesize the project’s research on monastic traditions, templates for budgeting and planning, and design patterns for collective living. We hope that it’s a useful participatory model for any groups, organisations or projects to bootstrap short- to medium-term living spaces focused around an area of research, a desire to build something or to improve and adapt an existing living experiment.
There are a number of opportunities to initiate Test Labs and unMonastery activities in Germany and abroad. It would be great to gather around the possibilities in the coming months for collective living spaces and experimental projects, as this meetup will be the first of several this autumn.
So if you don’t find yourself in the depths of CCC and free on short notice this weekend, please join us Saturday afternoon at Atelier Äuglein and afterwards in the neighborhood for evening drinks or dinner. Details are below, feel free to follow up on this post or ping me on twitter @keikreutler.
Where: Atelier Äuglein, Oppelner Str. 12, 10997 Berlin
When: Saturday, August 15th, 16:00h CET
In addition to the small gathering on Saturday, at the suggestion of @almereyda, we’ve also decided to have a chilled out meet in the evening on Monday at Tempelhofer Feld for those returning from CCC. Precise location is TBA on this thread and further elaborated on by @almereyda, but feel free to come by the park around 1700h on Monday, the 17th.
UPDATE: We will be meeting around Allmende Kontor at 1700h. Find it on the east side of Flugfeld Tempelhof.
